Mixing Plaster
A mixing plaster requires patience and dedication, especially in the initial stage of the application. For a successful plaster, you can pick a high quality plaster. You can also choose from 2T of Sudden Bond, Gold Bond’s All Purpose. For sanding, Sudden Bond’s 4T are recommendable.
After picking the right brand, slowly take out the mud from your bucket. After pouring its content, you can add one or two cups of water into the mud. Then mix the mud with a mud paddle or stomper. Continue mixing it until there are no bubbles or lumps in the mixture. Once the mixture is finally lump-free, you can now apply the plaster to your drywall.
If you did not finish your work and plan to continue it another day, you can leave the mixture in the bucket. Just remember to keep it fresh. You can keep the mixture fresh by adding a few cups of water in it. You should also clean each side of the bucket with your bare hands; so as to clean the remaining mixture in the surface. Then, you can leave the stomper on the bucket.
When it is already time for you to use it, you can simply get rid of the excess water and mix it a little. Thus, your mixture is then good as new.
